Sheila, Mom to 3, and the inventor of the Hiney Lineys Diapering System began cloth diapering with covers and prefolds when her first child was born in 2004. She liked the versatility and economy of them, using one cover over and over again and only having to buy and store a few. However, over time & after dealing with skin irritations in her son and newly born daughter, she started looking for something that would wick the moisture away from their sensitive skin and keep them feeling dry trying pocket diapers.
They were great for providing the protection wanted for their skin, and in addition to prefolds she used other materials such as microfiber that are not meant to be kept against the child’s skin. There was one major drawback, though; since the inner stay-dry layer would stay slightly damp, the whole cover had to be replaced with every changing. This meant that she would have to purchase and store more diapers . . . or come up with a solution.
First she tried placing a stay-dry layer in the regular covers, but the liners would never stay in place. She searched for other possibilities wanting a diaper cover that could act like a pocket diaper but not have to be washed at every diaper change. When she couldn’t find anything that worked that way, she put the pen to the paper.
After much trial and error, the Hiney Lineys system was born. Sheila is happy to share this revolutionary system with you and can’t wait to hear how Hiney Lineys have changed your diapering experience.
